India clinched the prestigious 9th Gov Tech award at the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai for its transformative project iRASTE earlier this year. This esteemed award, instituted by UAE government, honors innovative solutions from government entities worldwide. With support from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), GoI, iRASTE has revolutionised road safety through implementation of Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) technologies on city buses and achieved 41% reduction in urban road accidents in Nagpur. This pioneering effort demonstrates the value of harnessing the predictive power of AI to preempt road safety challenges and marks a significant departure from conventional approaches.
The award was presented by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and received by Tadu Mamu, Consul at the Consulate General of India, on behalf of MoRTH, Government of India.
