This event was hosted by INAI, IIIT Hyderabad for all the trainers of TGSRTC depots across Telangana. The trainers are key personnel in each depot who are responsible for managing the well-being of drivers, training them continuously, motivating them on a daily basis, and ensuring good driving behaviour.
Training every driver across the entire TGSRTC fleet on a regular basis was a logistical challenge. To address this, the Train the Trainer programme was designed to equip depot trainers with a thorough understanding of iRASTE's goals and vision so that they could continuously train and guide drivers within their respective depots.
During the programme, trainers were assigned targets to reduce road accidents within their own depots and compete for the Top Performing Depot Award. The initiative encouraged healthy competition while promoting safer driving practices across the TGSRTC network.
The participants received hands-on training on ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and DMS (Driver Monitoring System), along with an understanding of how these technologies are used in buses to improve driver safety and reduce accidents.
Along with the technical sessions, the trainers were encouraged to make iRASTE's vision their highest priority by continuously improving driver behaviour and working towards reducing accident records within their depots. By empowering trainers, the programme established a sustainable model for improving road safety across Telangana's public transport system.
